Modules
The opening module connects participants with wellbeing and psychological safety within their school context and culture.
Through problem-based learning, participants will be able to unpack these concepts and discuss practical approaches to support a positive workplace culture. In addition, participants connect with other peers, share their experience and learn from their colleagues.
Organisational Wellbeing & Psychological Safety
Module Intentions
By the end of the module, participants will:
Explore the importance of organisational culture, social capital and psychological safety on wellbeing
Discuss practical approaches to support a positive workplace culture
Practice coaching for wellbeing development
Understand experiences of trauma and psychological positions.
Managing Emotional Demands
This module focuses on targeted strategies for managing the individual emotional demands associated with school leadership challenges.
With a focus on techniques to support wellbeing at an individual level, this session concentrates on managing your mindset, responding to stress and exploring self-regulation techniques.
Module Intentions
By the end of the module, participants will:
Identify strategies for managing their emotional response and demands
Unpack the elements of emotional intelligence as well as its impact on participants emotional demands and interactions with others
Recognise stress triggers in themselves and others as well as explore strategies to mitigate stress.
Conflict and Communication
This module explores the complexities of engaging in conflict and communication for school leaders.
Participants will identify their personal triggers in conflict situations and how to recognise these responses in others. Building on the previous module, participants will explore how emotional intelligence can assist with managing and communicating in times of conflict. Participants will then examine how to support staff as they engage in conflict.
Module Intentions
By the end of the module, participants will:
Explore issues and positions in communicating during times of conflict
Identify their personal triggers in conflict scenarios and strategies to identify them in others
Examine ways to diffuse conflicts and ways to support staff as they engage in conflict.
Coping Strategies
This module focuses on targeted strategies for managing emotional demands and building wellbeing.
The tools presented in this module may provide a catalyst for wellbeing conversations and an empowerment mechanism to help individuals deepen their understanding of wellbeing and the building of social capital within their schools. Participants will also focus on building connection, creating a support network and community to reinforce their resilience and wellbeing.
Module Intentions
By the end of the module, participants will:
Explore strategies to build social capital and connection within their school
Explore a range of coping strategies
Audit their support networks and plan for future development.
